New York City, nicknamed 'The Big Apple’ with no connection to the fruit itself, but rather the dreams of jockey’s in horse races back in the day, where the monetary prize pool was called 'The Big Apple.’ New York City is best depicted as a fast paced concrete jungle, scattered with millions of people striding through the streets, between buildings of monstrous heights, yellow taxi cabs, roaming the roads. And in the midst of if all, the sweet escape known as 'Central Park’ welcoming with its lush expanse patch of greenery.
NYC provides an endless list of things see and do, with top highlights including - the infamous Times Square full of bright lights. Meeting the lady of freedom - the Statue of Liberty. Ascending great heights to stand at the ‘The Top of the Rock’ at the Rockefeller Centre. Lest we forget - the 9/11 memorial. Pacing the length of the Brooklyn Bridge. Soaking in the upbeat vibes of Madison Square Gardens. Getting lost in the gorgeous green fields of Central Park or immersed in the brilliant performances of Broadway theatre, as well as dining at the many delectable eateries and shopping til-you-drop. Whatever your zest is for adventure is in this city jungle, NYC offers a wealth of sights to explore.
The month of December sees NYC energised and dusted with a dose of Christmas spirit. Bringing about all the fun festivities - Christmas markets, department store windows decked for the holiday season, over-sized Christmas ornaments and light decorated trees, that adorn the streets. Making the city a joyous wonderland in the chill of Winter.
